(From Jo)
Rod has prepared a new S&L worksheet based on an article that appeared in the press about a Spanish civil servant who hadn't gone to work for years ... and nobody had even noticed!
You can find the worksheet here:

new Triptico games for PCAE and PFCE
(From Penny)
Ben and Andy have made some Triptico games for PCAE unit 4.
There's a document in the PCAE level folder, in unit 4, with a list of the games and a link to them.
Emma has also made some Triptico games for units 7 and 8. The info and links are on documents in the relevant PFCE unit folders.
Please add to these lists if you happen to make any Triptico games for these units, or paste the link into a similar document if it's for a different level or unit. Click on 'Share' and copy the web link (it's option 2 in the sharing options). I think this way of sharing games might be easier than inviting individual people by entering their email address. This way anyone who goes to the level folder can find the game.
I hope they're useful!

PFCE fillers
(From Penny)
Paul English is one of our projector material developers this year and he's just made some fillers to be used in PFCE classes. There are 10 Powerpoint presentations, all focusing on FCE word formation.
You can use them anytime you have a few minutes spare. Students can do the tasks in pairs, in open class or in teams.
The powerpoints are structured like this:
1. Students have to find the missing word in a wordsearch or wordle.
2. Students write the new words in a sentence.
3. Students try to remember the word forms.
You can find these fillers in the PFCE level folder.

Extra worksheets for N5 and N6
(from Robin)
Dear N5 N6 teachers
There are now worksheets for extra practice of the vocabulary in Lesson 1 Activity 1 - Follow the Footprints (Part 2)
Part 2 is a listening activity with sentences describing the new vocabulary presented in Activity 1. It can be found in the Multimedia folder under Kids English CDs
P:\01 Course CDs\02 Kids English CDs\05 N5 - Footprints 3
P:\01 Course CDs\02 Kids English CDs\06 N6 - Footprints 4
However, the listening activity does not exist on the ipacks so Maria has kindly re-labelled the relevant sound files in the above folders so they can be easily found, eg for N5 this can be found under
Footprints 3 CD 2
17 Unit 5 Lesson 1 Activity 1 Part 2
The following is an example of the sentences that students will hear for N5 Unit 5 Lesson1 Activity 1 Part 2, which practices the vocabulary of sports: volleyball, fencing, golf etc
1 You can do this in a gym!
2 You use a ball to play these three games!
3 You do this sport in the snow
4 You do these three sports in water
5 You need a horse to do this sport
6 You need a sword to do this sport
7 You wear special clothes and a belt to these two sports
8 You need a boat to do these two sports!
There are now worksheets being put in the Level Unit Folder aimed at exploiting part 2 listenings and the language they contain, for example, in N5 Unit 5 you can find one titled: PB38 Lesson 1 Activity 1 Part 2 extra practice
Here are some possible practice ideas, including some with worksheets which can be done over the course of a unit.
1 Listen and name the items (from the Course CD). I´d get the students to write the number of each sentence they hear next to the word on the Pupil's Book page, so number 1 "You can do this in the gym" could be gymnastics or fencing or volleyball.
2 Teacher reads out the sentences (from worksheet) and students say the words. I'd get students to produce sentences here, eg Number 1 "I think it's gymnastics" or "Maybe it's fencing"
3 Run and touch the pictures/words - teacher reads out the sentences (or students can take turns to read sentences out if they've done activity 5 below).
4 Run and write - as 3 but students write the word
5 Test your partner(s) - students are given a copy of the sentences and take turns to read them out to each other. I'd only give them one copy per pair or three to save paper and also use them with my other group too.
6 Listen and name the items - an opportunity to record the vocabulary in their notebooks.
7 Copy and complete in your notebook is also an opportunity to record the sentences and revises the spelling of the Unit vocabulary.
Hope this is useful.
