The idea behind this new blog
is to create a space where teachers can share worksheets, Powerpoint
presentations, games etc. with each other. Several teachers have very
generously shared their Halloween lesson ideas this week and I’m sure they’ve been
greatly appreciated by whoever’s been able to use them. Sometimes
teachers put a lot of time into creating a Triptico game, an engaging lead-in
on Powerpoint, or an attractive grammar presentation. I think it would be
great to show teachers in all the centres what you’ve created so everyone can
benefit from it and you can get some credit for the effort you’ve put in.
Similarly, many level leaders
spend hours producing much more material than they are expected to and without
that we wouldn’t have all the extra resources available to us in the level
folders.
Level leaders are also welcome
to use the teaching ideas blog to let teachers know of any new material that they’ve
made between level meetings.
So, how will the teaching
ideas blog work?
It would be too complicated to
make all teachers contributors, so only managers will be able to make posts,
just like with the CS News for Teachers blog. If you have some
material to share, please send it to Lee to post on the Teaching Ideas blog.
She’ll need to know what level it is for and which unit it relates to.
Depending on the material, you may also need to include brief instructions and
an answer key.
We’ll also be posting teaching
ideas that we get from journals or webinars.
You will receive a daily email
with the previous day’s posts, just like you do for the CS News for Teachers
blog.
We look forward to getting
your contributions!
