Dear INF-N6 teachers
Halloween's just round the corner!
With INF students, we normally dedicate one or two full lessons to Halloween and students make a craft (See Extra material and information in the INF level folder).
With N levels, if you're on track with the syllabus and can spare a lesson, you're welcome to make a craft with them as well. (There are plenty of resources in Extra material and information in the N2 Level folder, for example.) But usually we teach them some vocabulary and do a few halloween songs and related activities.
We bought the Super Simple Songs Halloween CD last year and we've just downloaded flashcards, worksheets and other photocopiable material from the Super Simple Songs webpage. It's all saved here:
P:\05 Songsheets\03 VYL Songs\Super Simple Songs\Super Simple Songs CDs\06 Super Simple Songs Halloween\SSS Halloween resources
OR
S:\Teachers\03 Levels\02 YL Levels File\SSS Halloween resources
You'll see I've assigned each folder a level - that's so we're not all doing the same thing and also some songs are more childish than others. You can use any of the songs if you like, but please use the photocopiable worksheets from the folder corresponding to your level. All these songs have videos on YouTube!
Besides, there might be more resources in Extra material and information in the corresponding level folders.
Dear T teachers
Even though we can't dedicate whole lessons to Halloween in T levels, students will enjoy doing a vocabulary-based activity, speaking activity, scary story (eg urband legend) or song.
Here are a few links to pages where you might find inspiration. Keep your eyes peeled, because I'm sure other teachers will share their ideas on the teaching blog over the next few days.
